We’ve missed some Weekly Smiles around here.
So what’s been going on around here? What do we have to smile about…Welll…. Hmmmm….With lives as boring (or seemingly boring) as ours are, there really isn’t much for me to mention. Life generally just seems to just, well, happen…
The son has pretty well completed both his physics and history courses for the year (as you will recall he is doing his classes through Bringham Young University (as I wrote about here). He now has a copy of the book he needed for english and is making progress there.
I’ll be doing my 3rd Mary Kay Party party this month on Facebook. A bit of a “Frown”, the last party did not go as well as I might hope – it seemed to lack luster (it happens sometimes) – but I’m ready to jump in and and go again with my next party and am looking forward to it. Plus, I’ll be hosting a Pampered Chef party for a friend (also on Facebook). Who’s excited? This Girl (The Wife)…Party Time!!!
So now, The Hubby – It may seem ironical that I would mention this as a “smile” but The Hubby is due to be getting cataract surgery before too long. The good news is that cataract surgeries, these days, are a fairly simple & easy procedure done in the doctors office in just a few minutes and the results will (or should) allow his to see things more clearly.
Pretty sure Meekah is smiling about resting in her favorite chair. She seems to get out of sorts when the chair is not in it’s usual locale
WordPress: Discovery – AnimalsShe finds the most interesting places to rest…. The really interesting (not shown here) was when she decided to climb into a partly open dresser drawer – on the top row – for a nap.
Outside the home, I think the most fun to watch are the little lizzards that scury around (geckos, maybe). We get little rabbits around here too – small jack rabbits, I think and mice. Unfortunately, Meehah seems to like to bring her catches in as a “gift” — ughhh.
Took this earlier today.
That’s pretty much what she’s been doing a better part of the day. She was up a couple times to eat and she did go outside (for all of 5 minutes)… Ohhh and she did get up to go into our room and into her 2-legged brother’s room for a short cat nap :-D. A little while ago she was spread legged on her back. Now she’s curled up with her head all but upside down. Silly girl.
It’s been a while hasn’t it. With the Fall Holidays it’s been a bit busy… Plus, as you know, The Wife recently started a new business as a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. Needless to say, with everything going on, it has been hard for the wife to fo find time for blogging. We’d like to say that that will change now but you know how it is with family, business, etc. We’ll just have to see how it goes.
For our “Return Post” Here’s a two-fer:
We’re joining both Hope The Happy Hugger for the Pet Round-Up (tho it won’t be until the November Round-Up that we’ll have a chance at inclusion). And we’re Joining Diane/Diana at Part-Time Monster for a Weekend Coffee Share (course there’s also hot tea & hot cocoa available as well as ice tea and even soda).
To go along with your choice of beverage, we also have some cornflake & oats muffins witn diced apples + glaze. We ended up with an over abundance of unsweetened cornflakes and decided to try out a recipe we found. We added flax meal to the mix and put some carroway & fennel seeds on top before baking. They came our surprisingly delicious especially heated with butter… The apples & glaze was just an added treat.
The Wife did get a picture of her lying on some clothes she (the wife) was folding, but the picture was way to blurry to be shown.
In other family news. Our son ran his last cross-country meet last weekend. Because of the location of where the rest of the team “set camp”, The Hubby was not able to join but we did find a good spot to watch the runners and got to cheer them on not once but twice, the final time being the home stretch – time to kick it into gear and (as we tell our son) Turn on those after-burners. The state championship meet is the first part of November but only the top 8 boys & top 8 girls are invited from each school – I doubt our son will make the cut, but he’s been encouraged to finish the season so he’s eligible for his award at season end. The son has stated that he’s not interested in going out for cross-country next year…. Only time will truly tell. Who knows maybe he’ll change his mind…. Or maybe he’ll decide to give wrestling a try if the option is available to him.
