Good Tuesday Morning. Time for a bit of Tuesday Chatter with our host Eugenia over at Brew N Spew.
I’ll start with a bit of happy news – Firefighters are finally starting to get a handle on the BurroFire (link is to latest report from TucsonNewsNow). The Fire is now at 65%. I know that doesn’t seem like a lot but for several days after it first started it was at like 0%…. They finally got it up to 19%. A couple days ago they got it to 51% and as of yesterday evening it was 65%. That fire was kicking the firefighters butt and it’s good to see they are getting a handle on it.
Yesterday, our son did the first part of his belt testing (he does the second part on Wednesday). He actually did really good. I (Wife) cleaned up my phone so I could get videos and it still gave me fits. I did get a couple videos including him doing his Kata – Tai Chi’o KoShodone (I don’t know that I’m saying that exactly right). Wednesday he does the sparring portion. Next Monday is the belt ceremony.
Wishing you all a Terrific Tuesday and Wonderful Week ahead. Till next week.
I was looking through my emails from both this morning and yesterady to find the one for Eugenia’s Tuesday Chatter so I could link to it here, but couldn’t find it anywhere. Went to her wordpress site BrewNSpew and looked at last week to see if there was any mention of taking a break this week (I mean it is Indpendence Day so I don’t know)… Nothing mentioned. Just checked my emails again – nope, still nothing there. Well that’s just weird. Did I miss something somehow? Well anyway, here’s the link to last week’s Tuesday Chatter…. And here’s mine.
The Son will be doing belt testing next week in Martial Arts. He’s actually coming a long ways with his Kata. It isn’t perfect and still needs a lot of polishing but he’s a lot smoother at it. He needs to work on his Kehones (punches & kicks) and tighten those up a bit but he’s improving leaps & bounds thee. Another thing he’ll be tested on is his “defense move” which he’ll need to explain as he does it. There’s some other things that he’ll be tested on but that is what comes to mind right now.
Can’t really think of much else to chatter about right now… I did get my bulk order from Mary Kay and started putting together orders for clients. I did get one delivered yesteday and another will be done today. The others will be shipped out tomorrow. I don’t have them all packaged up yet but here’s the orders so far.
Well, I’d say that’s about the end of my chatterring for this week… But what about The Hubbby, you ask?!? – I’m afraid there isn’t much to say this time around. I mentioned the eye surgery (cataract surgery to be specific) in other posts, did I not?? Other than that, not a lot new with him, other than the 130 something over 50 somethign bloodpressure he had yesterday (he had taken it because he was feeling a bit light headed and loopy… By the way, he’s find now. We determined that the problem was the acetone in the nail polish remover used to do some cleaning. After our son had finished using it he had set in his bathroom which is near the living room and failed to put the lid back on… Oyyyy!
Ok, now that’s the end of my Tuesday Chattering. Wishing you all a wonderful and awesome week and a very safe and fun Fourth of July.
Totally blew off doing our Three Things Thursday post for the week yesterday… At least it’s only Friday and I didn’t totally blow it off — phewww 😅.
So, what three things can I mention this week? Hard to come up with stuff sometimes without repeating the same things that I’ve already mentioned numerous times, either here or in other posts.
The Hubby went to the doctor yesterday to have minor surgery done on his toe nail — Yeah I know… “What?!? Why would someone need surgery on a nail”… He had a problem with an ingrown toe nail that was causing him problems. He is both paraplegic – semi-ambulatory (less so though after the stroke) and diabetic. Both of which are not good when it comes to having an in-grown problematic nail. He said that the waiting around took longer than the actual procedure.
The Son continues to do well, and improving nicely, in his Martial Arts. Coordination is probalby one of the harest parts for him. I grabbed this quick photo, the other day, of him sparring with 2 other gentleman. Obviously, being that he’s still pretty new at all this, they went easy on him.
As for me (The Wife)…. Well, I recently did some more ridealongs with both the local police department and the local sheriff’s department. Got another one scheduled for another nearby police department in a couple weeks.
As usual, I’m doing my Mary Kay business, as well as tweeting, posting, sharing, etc stuff for my Public Safety Tidbits (unfortunately I haven’t had much to write about there) and Taini Writes (time, and lack of muse, has been a factor here – sadly).
Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed weekend.
Hi everyone. Been a busy morning and I’m just now getting to the Tuesday Chatter (hosted by Eugenia). I usally try to do this first thing in the morning while I drink my coffee but today didn’t work out that way (obviously). The Hubby was up early and there were a few things he wanted to get taken care of. Then there was breakfast and a party that I needed to post in… Then off to take care kitties for family (which is where I’m at now). As soon as I’m done here, it’s back home to pick up son and off to Phoenix to pick up bookshelves…. That’ll probably take a good several hours (1-1/2 to 2 hrs driving each way plus the time at the store picking up the bookshelves… Ohhh and we’ll probably want to stop for lunch or something).
Our son is coming along nicely in his Martial Arts class. I think he enjoys it, though he doesn’t always enjoy the more lectury aspects. He does improve little by little each time he goes. Who knows, I might be able to take the class with him. Have to see about that, but he has given the okay for mom to do with (or at least expresses that he doesn’t care one way or other, LOL).
Not much news with The Hubby. Appointment has been scheduled for cataract surgery but the snafu is that insurance might be dropping said doctor (or vice verse) so we’re scrambling to get appointments scheduled for both eyes (have to be done separately a couple weeks apart) and crossing fingers that insurance will continue to cover the doctor… Yeah, it’s a mess (not to mention frustrating) and all we can do is wait and see what happens.
Well, I’d better get going… Lot’s to do today. Wishing you all a blessed and wonderful day. Hope you’ll join for the Tuesday Chatter.
