So sorry to be MIA from the Tuesday Chatter the past couple weeks…. I won’t even bother with explanations. Let’s just leave it at Life Happens”.
Even now I am rushing this as I have to leave shortly to do a bit of shopping then pick up my son…. Spent the past few hours sitting at the library getting some work done to pass the time while waiting till it was time to do the shopping
Well for starters, The Son has started at his new school and seems to be doing well. This semester he’s signed up for Sophmore English, Geometry, Environmental Science, Personal & Family Living, and Driver’s Ed (yep you heard right – Driver’s Ed)… He goes in for a 5 hour block of time but the school is online based (I think I’ve mentioned that before) so he is able to work at his own pace. So far his grades are looking good and it looks like he is most nearly done w/the Driver’s Ed class.
The Hubby’s eyes continue to heal well from his cataract surgery and his eyesight has improved drastically.
And as for me, it’s pretty much been the usual. Working my business, volunteering with the local police department and other personal volunteer stuff I do as well as running errands, doing household stuff, etc and so forth.
Ooops… Time to run but tototally hope to catch up soon.
I was looking through my emails from both this morning and yesterady to find the one for Eugenia’s Tuesday Chatter so I could link to it here, but couldn’t find it anywhere. Went to her wordpress site BrewNSpew and looked at last week to see if there was any mention of taking a break this week (I mean it is Indpendence Day so I don’t know)… Nothing mentioned. Just checked my emails again – nope, still nothing there. Well that’s just weird. Did I miss something somehow? Well anyway, here’s the link to last week’s Tuesday Chatter…. And here’s mine.
The Son will be doing belt testing next week in Martial Arts. He’s actually coming a long ways with his Kata. It isn’t perfect and still needs a lot of polishing but he’s a lot smoother at it. He needs to work on his Kehones (punches & kicks) and tighten those up a bit but he’s improving leaps & bounds thee. Another thing he’ll be tested on is his “defense move” which he’ll need to explain as he does it. There’s some other things that he’ll be tested on but that is what comes to mind right now.
Can’t really think of much else to chatter about right now… I did get my bulk order from Mary Kay and started putting together orders for clients. I did get one delivered yesteday and another will be done today. The others will be shipped out tomorrow. I don’t have them all packaged up yet but here’s the orders so far.
Well, I’d say that’s about the end of my chatterring for this week… But what about The Hubbby, you ask?!? – I’m afraid there isn’t much to say this time around. I mentioned the eye surgery (cataract surgery to be specific) in other posts, did I not?? Other than that, not a lot new with him, other than the 130 something over 50 somethign bloodpressure he had yesterday (he had taken it because he was feeling a bit light headed and loopy… By the way, he’s find now. We determined that the problem was the acetone in the nail polish remover used to do some cleaning. After our son had finished using it he had set in his bathroom which is near the living room and failed to put the lid back on… Oyyyy!
Ok, now that’s the end of my Tuesday Chattering. Wishing you all a wonderful and awesome week and a very safe and fun Fourth of July.
I’ve decided to move, starting today, my Weekly Smile posts over here to my Life Happens at the Carrs blog.
So what did I have, or rather we – as this is the family blog, have to smile about. Well I can tell you my son took one of his unit(?) quizzes for math through BYU (Bringham Young Univercity) and got a 90+% on it. I should offer a bit of explanation about him doing BYU. Due to circumstances that I won’t get into, he is doing online schooling with IEP support being done through the charter school he was going attending. The online schooling is going quite well for him. He’s been motivated to get on the computer and get to work. Only thing we have to watch out for is that he doesn’t rush through and try to do half a years worth of school work in a month or less and that he is #1 actually learning something (not just rote memorization) & #2 that he is doing well on his quizzes/tests.
Another smile – I went to a Mary Kay unit meeting yesterday. This particular one was mainly a skincare class for guests followed by recognitions and such. I am told that they usually have a training session but that this particular week was done differently. Even with the skincare class instead of “training” I learned something. I also won a cute little bag for Miss Mary Kay image.
