Good Morning to everyone.  Welcome to another week of Tuesday Chatter hosted by Eugenia at BrewNSpew.

Last week I told you all that I was going on a ridealong with our local fire department – NorthwestFire.   I believe we went on something like 7 calls, most of them medical in nature (did you know that something like 80+% of calls are medical in nature), though one turned out to be nothing but some homeless folks sleeping, so we cleared pretty quick from that call. The day (for me) ended on a move up to cover in the area of another fire department (Golder Ranch) for a major house fire.

Speaking of Northwest Fire, Golder Ranch, and another in the area – Mountain Vista Fire District…  There is some big news around the corner – Starting May 1st, when a call comes in it will be the closest station that goes on the call (no longer will it be based solely on whose district the call originated in).  This will help to get help to people quicker.  Also, it appears that a consolidation between Mountain Vista and Golder Ranch is in the works (atleast on the drawing table).
I could continue on about the ridealong and how wonderful these guys are, how well they work together, and the level of care & concern they show for the patients under their care… but this is suppose to be a family blog so I should talk about the rest of the family.  Got word (notification via email) of an update to my son’s grades for history.  So let me back up a little bit.  Last week, my son took his history final.  I haven’t been able to view the grade he got on the final itself but I was able to see the final grade for the course and he got a B+.  He takes his Physics final today.  Also, it does appear that he may very well be up for receiving the next rank in scouts – which would be his Star.  I didn’t think he was actually up to receive it but it seems he was closer than we realized.  All he needs to do is have his ScoutMaster conference (which would also include the part about how he’s been living and acting as a scout) and then the Board of Review.  I’m hoping he can get the ScoutMaster conference done this week so the Board Review can be done the following.

Hubby goes in, later this morning, for cataract surgery on one eye.  The other eye will need to get done as well, but we’re dealing with issues with medical insurance.  It’s a long story and a complete mess.  Apparently our insurance is dropping the doctors that my husband sees (that whole group of doctors) so my husband is having to change insurances which is causing some problems (in otherwords we’re getting the runaround).

So that’s what’s going on around here.  What all is going on in your neck of the woods.  Hopefully you all had a great weekend and your week has started out, and continues to go, well.

Good Morning to everyone.  Hope it’s been a great and blessed week so far.  Time for me to do my weekly Tuesday Chatter post (hosted by Eugenia over at Brew’N’Spew)…  Hey wait, don’t forget to come back after you check those out, PLLEEEEAAASSEE.

The Son went on a zipline campout last week.  I asked him about it when he got home.  He had fun, but was also like mehhh.  He mentioned that there were 3 different lines (different lengths), from what he was telling me they are about a thousand feet above the ground.  He went on all three lines.  I asked if he screamed any.  He said “No”.  He’s thinking that maybe some of the younger boys might have.  I’ll tell you that kid is a lot braver than me.  No way in HEπŸ’πŸ’ you’re getting me out on one of those.  That and Bungee Jumping are on my “Oh Heck No, not even for a Million Bucks” list.

Eye surgery (cataracts) is scheduled, at least for one eye, towards the end of April.  We’ll have to see what happens with getting the other eye done (insurance fun there – waiting to find out what happens with current insurance and said doc…  Apparently there is talk of one possibly trying to drop the other).

I went on a Mids (Midnight shift) ridealong the other day.   It had to be cut short due to the fact that they had to go to minimum staffing at a certain point, but the time that I did have was fun.  Honestly,  it probably would have been better if I had done a Saturday night rather than Sunday.  Sundays are pretty dead and most people were behaving themselves.  Of course I can’t say with absolute certainty  that Saturdays would have had more but I have to imagine that being the weekend and the whole drinking thing (something about getting alcohol in the system that increases the stupidity level in some people).

Well that’s the end of my Tuesday Chatter, and the end of my coffee. Off to make another cup.  Wishing all an awesome & blessed rest of the week.  See you next time.
