I just turned on the KIIM-FM app on my phone so I could listen to 99.5 (my favorite radio station) while I type… That and a nice warm cup of coffee is making a me a happy camper right now…. It’s almost time for my favorite DJs to come on Max, Shannon, and Porkchop.
It’s been a pretty typical week for us around here – tutoring, martial arts, scouts, along with usual shopping, errands, and doctor appointments. I know those aren’t exactly smiles or nothing, but good thing is we’ve made it through everything with little to no problems.
Monday was back to back doctor appointments for me and The Hubby. He had a cardiology appointments and I had a “women’s” appointment across the parking lot from where hubby’s appt was. “Women’s” appt…. yeah that un-fun appt – for guys, I guess an equivalent un-fun would be the prostate exam. Nothing, I understand, like having doc put on a glove and say drop your pants and bend over. Anyway, the good thing is that, for me, that appointment is over and done with until next year.
Don’t know exactly what happened at hubby’s cardiology appointment other than them wanting him to have a blood test done to check lipids level. Speaking of blood tests, I had one done yesterday – should hear something back in a few days regarding that blood draw, as well as hearing back regarding my earlier appointment. I’m sure all will be good and something to smile about.
Just to recap on my Three Things –
- Coffee and KIIM-FM
- Survived the week (well so far, it’s only Thursday)
- Got through un-fun “women’s” appointment – good for another year.
Hope you all had a week worth smiling about.
I was going to say coffee’s still warm, but then I got interrupted. I have re-heated it. Not the best but it works – *smile*
Here’s something definitely worth smiling about – infact I’d say it’s worth several smiles. Our son received his Star Rank yesterday at the Court of Honor… Now he begins his journey to Life.
Another WeeklySmile where I join Trent, who hosts this every week, and tell what there’s been for us (the familly) to smile about.
Having a bit of difficulty this morning as I was late to last week and didn’t get to it until Trent posted his reminder on Sunday.
The Hubby has been smiling (both chuckling and guffawing) at the book he’s reading online. Apparently there are some pretty funny parts. I did try asking him what he thought there was to smile about but he wasn’t able to tell me anything.
The Son, I’ll have to ask later as he is currently in bed. Think I’ll let him stay there for now as it’s not yet 6 in the morning and I’m sure he’s smiling in his sleep about being in bed.
Me, well I pretty well covered my “smiles” when I responded to the WeeklySmile 70 challenge – Here. I am smiling at drinking a nice mostly hot cup of coffee. A couple more things to smile at… Looks my son did well this past weekend at the campout with the cub pack counterpart to his troop. The boyscouts came up with an obstacle course for the pack kids. My son was in charge over the part where they hold on to a rope with hands and feet and scoot across over an obstacle. Also he is getting close to finishing up his 9th grade classes through BYU – all that’s left to concentrate on is math & english (math being his hardest class and english being not far behind). We still haven’t 100% decided on what to do next year. There’s still many questions to be answered to determine what is the best course of action for him. Prayers that we do what is best for him….Not what everyone thinks is best for him but what is truly best for him and his future. To keep this on a smile note – I am tentatively smiling as I am proud of my son and the young man he is becoming. Yes I have my worries & concerns (don’t all parents) but I smile when I think about how he can rise to the occasssion and do what needs to be done, can lead (or help lead), be helpful, all kinds of things like that.
Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed day. Sounds like The Hubby has some questions and (probably) things to talk about and I’m going to want to make myself another cup of coffee.
It seems hard, sometimes, to think of what made us smile this, and it doesn’t help that The Hubby isn’t into blogging or other Social Media stuff and The Son… Well let’s just say (almost) typical teenage boy mixed with aspergers…. yeah not really going to get much help from him on what made him smile this last week. I could wager a guess however with him (would be same pretty much week after week) – watching you-tube videos and playing Minecraft. He’s actually been working on a minecraft video for you tube.
The Hubby continues to work with his friend on model railroad stuff. On another note, sadly, we’re not sure how the cataract surgery thing is going to go… It’s looking as if the insurance he’s got is going to be dropping the doctor who would be doing the surgery… Infact, they are going to be dropping a whole system, so he’s either going to have to switch insurance (if that’s possilble) or get new doctors 😔… But this is suppose to be about smiles 😀 so let’s see what else there is….
I’m smiling about the Mary Kay Facebook party I’ve got being hosted as well as hosting a Pampered Chef party next Sunday… And I’m going to be hosting a Jewel-Scent party sometime in May. Ohhh yes, can’t forget the ride-alongs I’m working on getting scheduled (should hear about one of them sometime this week) -That’s something to smile about.
Well that’s about it for this week. Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed week with many smiles.
